I seriously have to keep pinching myself to realise just how amazing the HP Con concerts were at Stoller Hall!
We had over 4000 people come to our concerts over the weekend which in itself is just unprecedented – I believe this is now the largest Harry Potter Convention in the world to date.
The audiences were just fabulous and my players just absolutely smashed it – it was an absolute joy to conduct them and to see the reactions in people’s faces when they heard each John Williams track was really something else.
I wanted to thank everyone who came to the event and also to the extremely courteous and professional staff at Chethams School of Music, who really helped everything run as smoothly as it did.
Many thanks to Paul Dixon for the great shots.
The next Harry Potter Con is at Victoria Warehouse in Trafford Park (near the Manchester United ground) on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th of October.
There are a few surprises planned so I hope you can all make it!
Very excited to have the new Skaparis stamps for stamping our new merchandise bags that will have their debut at the Harry Potter Convention in Manchester next week.
Many thanks for the great job by ‘Get Stamped’ based in Oxford.
The Skaparis has a rehearsal this coming Monday at the RNCM for the concerts at the new Stoller Hall at Chethams School of Music – I can’t wait to put that first down beat down for Star Wars!
I’m very privileged to have Stephanie Halsey as the Skaparis Orchestra’s harpist for the Numan/Skaparis Tour.
Steph is an amazing player with a great deal of experience performing in high profile concerts.
I’ve just been working with her on Harp techniques as it’s a very complex instrument and requires the correct terms to be written in her music. She can’t wait to play!
Here working with Jan Bradley the Skaparis’s Multi-Percussionist for the Numan/Skaparis Tour in his basement percussion studio at his home earlier today.
I don’t think I’ve seen such an amazing array of different and cool percussion instruments in one space!
