Gary Numan and The Skaparis Orchestra collaboration announcement

I am absolutely thrilled and over the moon to announce that The Skaparis is collaborating with Gary Numan for his UK ‘Savage’ Tour in November.  I’ve been in contact with Gary since the very beginning of December ’17 and have met him twice since then, working furiously on putting all of this together.

We’re both so excited for this project as we will be making a Live DVD and Live Album at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on November 17th, performing at the Royal Albert Hall in London on the 19th and touring the UK. The amazing Kantos choir is joining us as well and I’ll be writing the arrangements and transitions with my co-writer throughout the next 7 months.

Tickets are on sale from Friday this week (6th April) at all of the venues including Cardiff St. David’s Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Newcastle City Hall, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and The Royal Albert Hall in London.

As a Manchester UK based Orchestra, we’re extremely proud that our home city is one of those on the Tour route!

The Skaparis Orchestra’s website  www.skaparis.uk will also be going live from Friday 6th April where you can find information on all of the venues, how to purchase tickets, background information on the Skaparis Orchestra etc. and a special corner dedicated to Gary Numan that will include little known facts and figures, hosted by the wonderful Mr. Steve Tottle. Watch this space!!

RNCM Session Orchestra

Hello everyone, it’s been a while since I’ve posted – the reason being that there have been an incredible amount of things happening behind the scenes at SR Music and the Skaparis Collective.

The Skaparis Orchestra’s UK Tour has been postponed due to some very  exciting developments in December 2017 and it’s now the focus of all my energy and attention towards what may be a much bigger tour in November of this year.

This isn’t the only development, and I will have some great news soon in relation to my collaboration with the Producer and Film Score composer Simon Withenshaw, who is currently working for TT Games, a subsidiary of Warner Brothers.

Plans are also being laid for more collaborations with the amazing violinist Miriam Davis, Film maker and Producer Carl Whitely and I’m starting to work at the Royal Northern College of Music with the RNCM Session Orchestra.

News will be coming in thick and fast, so I’ll be updating you all as quick as my fingers will keep up!

New Year and new surprises

Happy Christmas and New Year to all of you, and thank you so much for supporting me through what has been a fantastic but slightly scary transition from BBC violinist and camera director to conducting student at the RNCM and then in to the deep end! It’s been an amazing 2017, but I have a feeling that the projects coming around the corner in 2018 will be exceptional – especially the Skaparis Collective UK tour at the end of March! I’ll be posting the dates and venues, and we’ll have the Skaparis website up and running very soon with ticket details. Hope to see you all there!

Classical Uproar at Gorton Monastery, Manchester

What an unbelievable night!! Those who were there for an evening of Acid House and Classical had an experience that will stay with them for a long, long  time. All the preparation (6 months!) had paid off and my orchestra The Skaparis Collective rose to the occasion with electric playing and phenomenal energy – they were bouncing off the crowd who were singing (and occasionally screaming!) back to the tunes that had been so masterfully arranged by the brilliant Simon Withenshawe. We had incredible performances from Luke Neptune, Bekka, Michelle Adamson and of course the mighty Allison Limmerick and it brought the house down! The other star of course was the stunningly beautiful Gorton Monastery…
